Pakistan Takes Over Presidency of Digital Cooperation Organisation (DCO)

Pakistan officially assumed the presidency of the Digital Cooperation Organisation (DCO) during its fifth General Assembly in Kuwait on February 6 (with announcements and coverage continuing into February 7).

Minister for IT and Telecommunication Shaza Fatima Khawaja led the handover, positioning Pakistan to guide digital initiatives across 16 member countries for the coming year.

This is big for marketing and digital agencies in Pakistan. The DCO focuses on digital economy growth, AI adoption, e-commerce, digital skills, and cross-border tech collaboration.

Agencies specializing in digital marketing, content creation, social media strategy, and AI-driven campaigns stand to gain from increased regional projects, partnerships, and funding opportunities in areas like digital advertising, online branding, and tech-enabled marketing tools.

It’s seen as a boost for local creative/digital agencies to expand regionally and attract international clients, especially with Pakistan’s push toward Indus AI Week (starting February 9) and broader digital transformation.

This development highlights Pakistan’s rising role in the global digital space, creating fresh momentum for marketing professionals and agencies here.
