MG Motor Pakistan Announces $20M Expansion to Increase Production

MG Motor Pakistan has announced plans to invest about 20 million dollars to expand its vehicle manufacturing plant in Lahore. The move is aimed at increasing production and introducing new vehicle models in the Pakistani market.

The investment will help upgrade the company’s existing facility by adding new production lines and modern automotive technologies. Company officials say the expansion will allow the plant to produce more vehicles and support future product launches.

The project is supported by MG’s parent company, SAIC Motor, which sees Pakistan as an important market for its international growth strategy. The company believes that the country’s young population and rising demand for modern cars create strong opportunities for the automobile industry.

Officials also said the expansion will strengthen the local auto supply chain and create new job opportunities. By increasing local production and using more locally made parts, the company hopes to support Pakistan’s manufacturing sector and reduce dependence on imports.

MG Motor Pakistan entered the Pakistani market in 2020 and has introduced several models, including SUVs and electric vehicles. The company has also been expanding its presence in the country’s hybrid and new energy vehicle market.

Industry experts believe that such investments can strengthen Pakistan’s automobile sector by introducing new technologies, increasing competition, and improving local production capacity. If successful, the expansion could also open doors for future exports from Pakistan’s growing auto industry.
