Government Allocates Rs. 125 Billion to Ease Fuel Burden on Citizens

The federal government has set aside Rs125 billion to protect citizens from rising fuel costs during ongoing tensions in the Middle East.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said that petrol and diesel are being sold at prices lower than international rates to reduce the financial pressure on the public.

He explained that the government is taking several steps to manage the situation and ensure fuel remains affordable.

These include fuel conservation measures and digital monitoring of supply chains to prevent shortages and misuse. Authorities are closely tracking fuel distribution to maintain stability across the country.

In addition, the government plans to introduce a system to provide subsidized petrol to low-income individuals through a mobile application. This initiative aims to ensure that financial support reaches those who need it the most in a transparent and efficient way.

Motorcycle and rickshaw owners, who rely heavily on fuel for their daily income, will also receive special support. The government is working on improving and streamlining vehicle registration processes so that these groups can easily access future relief programs.

Officials have urged citizens to cooperate with fuel-saving efforts by using resources responsibly. They believe that public support is essential to make these measures successful and to maintain balance during uncertain times.
