LPG Price Increased by Rs 20 Per Kg in Pakistan Effective from April 2026

The price of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) has increased by Rs 20 per kg in Pakistan, adding extra burden on households that use it for cooking and heating.

According to reports, this hike is being implemented in some areas, with further changes expected from April 1, 2026. The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) has notified new prices that include both local and imported LPG. The increase comes after recent supply disruptions, rising global energy costs, and higher demand in the domestic market.

Many consumers have already noticed a sharp jump in market rates in late March 2026. In some cities, the price of an 11.8 kg domestic LPG cylinder has crossed Rs 3,500 to Rs 3,900, depending on the area. This is much higher than the official notified rates of previous months.

The latest hike is linked to multiple factors, including international price fluctuations, transportation costs, and occasional shortages. Middle and lower-income families, who rely heavily on LPG for daily cooking, will feel the biggest impact. Many households are already struggling with rising inflation and energy bills.

OGRA regularly reviews LPG prices every month based on international rates and the exchange value of the Pakistani rupee. Authorities have asked distributors and retailers not to charge more than the notified rates.

Consumers are advised to check official prices and report any overcharging. This fresh increase is expected to push up kitchen expenses for millions of families starting April. The government may consider relief measures if the situation worsens.
