PRA Revenue Surges Past Rs. 250 Billion with Strong Growth in FY2025-26

The Punjab Revenue Authority (PRA) has collected more than Rs250 billion during the first nine months of the fiscal year 2025-26.

This is a significant increase compared to Rs. 181 billion collected during the same period last year, showing a rise of around Rs. 70 billion.

According to a PRA spokesperson, the authority also recorded strong performance in March.

Revenue collection for the month exceeded Rs. 30 billion, compared to Rs. 22.4 billion in March of the previous fiscal year. This reflects a year-on-year growth of approximately 33 percent.

Officials said the improved performance is mainly due to better enforcement and stronger administrative measures introduced during the current fiscal year.

These steps have helped increase transparency and improve tax compliance across different sectors.

The activation of the Large Taxpayer Unit has also played an important role in boosting revenue.

This unit focuses on monitoring and managing major taxpayers more effectively, ensuring that they meet their tax obligations on time. As a result, compliance among large businesses has improved, contributing to higher overall collections.

PRA management has instructed its teams to continue working actively to meet the annual revenue targets.

Officials believe that maintaining strict monitoring, improving systems, and expanding the tax net will further strengthen revenue performance in the coming months.

The strong growth in PRA collections highlights the impact of ongoing reforms and efforts to improve the tax system in Punjab.

Authorities remain optimistic that with consistent efforts, revenue targets for the fiscal year will be successfully achieved.
