The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) has increased the price of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG), raising costs for domestic consumers across Pakistan.
According to an official notification, the price of LPG has been increased by Rs. 4.95 per kilogram. This revision has led to an increase in the price of domestic cylinders as well.
OGRA stated that the new price of LPG has been set at Rs. 308.76 per kilogram. Based on this rate, the price of an 11.8 kg domestic cylinder has gone up to Rs. 3,643.41.
The authority also confirmed that the price of an 11.8 kg cylinder has increased by Rs. 58.51. This change will directly affect household budgets that rely on LPG for cooking and other daily needs.
The revised LPG prices will be applicable for the month of June, according to the official notification issued by OGRA. Consumers will now have to pay the updated rates starting from the new billing cycle.
Market observers note that LPG prices are reviewed regularly based on international market trends, exchange rates, and supply costs. Any change in these factors can lead to adjustments in local prices.
The latest increase has once again highlighted concerns about rising utility costs, especially for low and middle-income households that depend on LPG as an alternative to natural gas.
