Punjab Government Approves Rs 81 Crore for Two AI Schools in Lahore

The Punjab government has announced plans to establish two specialised Artificial Intelligence (AI) schools in Lahore. The project will cost Rs. 81 crore and aims to prepare students for the future digital economy.

According to official sources, these schools will focus on teaching artificial intelligence, robotics, and advanced information technology. Students will receive a modern education that includes smart classrooms, well-equipped computer laboratories, and other technology-based learning tools. The initiative also includes special training programmes for teachers to help them deliver high-quality AI education.

The main goal is to equip young students with the skills needed for future jobs in technology and innovation. Punjab officials believe this step will align the province’s education system with international standards and help students compete in the global market. The schools are expected to promote technology-driven learning across the province.

This project is part of the Punjab government’s broader efforts to modernise education under Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz. It comes at a time when countries around the world are investing heavily in AI education to build a skilled workforce. Experts say such schools can inspire more students to pursue careers in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM).

The two AI schools in Lahore are likely to serve as models for similar projects in other cities of Punjab. This move shows the government’s commitment to digital transformation and preparing the next generation for a technology-led future.
