Pakistan-Kenya Trade Crosses Historic $1 Billion Mark

Pakistan and Kenya have achieved a major milestone in their economic partnership. Bilateral trade between the two countries has crossed $1 billion for the first time, reaching $1.023 billion in the fiscal year 2025-26. This reflects growing business ties and successful trade efforts by both sides.

Pakistan’s exports to Kenya hit a record high of $434.7 million during this period. This is the highest level ever in the history of trade between the two nations. The Pakistan Embassy in Nairobi highlighted the role of consistent diplomatic and commercial work in achieving this success.

Several initiatives helped boost this growth. Pakistani trade officials organised business delegations and helped Kenyan buyers join major exhibitions in Pakistan, such as FoodAg, TEXPO, and others. These events led to new commercial deals worth millions of dollars.

Important steps included lowering customs valuation on Pakistani rice, which made it more competitive in Kenya. More than 35 Pakistani pharmaceutical companies also got registered in Kenya, opening doors for medicine exports. The two countries held their second Joint Trade Committee meeting and are negotiating a Free Trade Agreement with the East African Community.

This achievement shows the strength of Pakistan-Kenya relations. Experts believe it will encourage more investment and deeper economic cooperation in the future. Both nations are now working toward even stronger trade links.
