A new study shows that LinkedIn has more AI-generated content than any other major social media site. According to research by Pangram Labs, an AI detection company, about 41% of long LinkedIn posts (over 250 words) appear to be fully written by artificial intelligence.
Pangram analyzed over one million posts from LinkedIn, X (formerly Twitter), Reddit, Medium, and Substack. The data came from users who installed their Chrome extension after April 2026. LinkedIn made up only one-third of the posts studied but accounted for 62% of all AI-generated content detected. About 30% of the shorter LinkedIn posts were also flagged as AI-made.
Across all platforms, 13.8% of posts were fully AI-generated. For long-form content, this jumped to nearly 26%, meaning one in every four long posts may come from AI. X had 23.9% fully AI long posts, while Reddit had the lowest rate at around 4.4%.
Why LinkedIn? Many professionals use it to build their personal brand and share “thought leadership” content. Writing polished posts takes time, so people turn to AI tools for help. LinkedIn even offers an “Enhance post” AI feature. However, the platform is now fighting “AI slop”, low-quality, generic content that lacks real experience or ideas. It is working to limit such posts.
