The newly launched Jaecoo J7 has received a strong response in Pakistan, signaling promising sales potential for NexGen Auto, the Nishat Group-backed venture.
The company, in partnership with China’s Chery Automobile, introduced the Jaecoo and Omoda brands to the Pakistani market in October 2025.
The Jaecoo J7 was initially priced at Rs9.99 million and was later revised to Rs10.5 million from 1 December 2025.
The pricing strategy positions the vehicle in the competitive SUV and crossover segment – high enough to reflect a premium image but still accessible to a broad customer base. Analysts say this approach has helped the J7 attract serious buyers rather than casual interest.
Within the first month of bookings, NexGen Auto reported 3,000 units reserved, making it the highest first-month booking figure for a Jaecoo model anywhere in the world, according to an official newspaper advertisement.
The numbers suggest that the pre-booking phase has effectively served as a market test, with Pakistani consumers showing strong demand for the model.
The successful launch is expected to positively impact the earnings of listed members of the Nishat Group which has been expanding its footprint in the automotive sector.
Market observers note that the early performance of the J7 reflects growing consumer interest in locally assembled premium SUVs and crossovers, a segment that has seen significant growth in recent years.
NexGen Auto’s management has expressed confidence that the Jaecoo J7 will continue to attract buyers and the strong initial bookings indicate a promising start for both the brand and the company’s long-term growth in Pakistan’s competitive car market.
