Pakistan has taken an important step toward faster mobile internet as telecom companies have activated more than 300 5G sites across the country. This development marks the beginning of early 5G rollout in selected areas.
According to PTA, key parts of Islamabad and other regions are now experiencing initial 5G connectivity.
The rollout is still in its early phase, but it shows progress toward advanced digital infrastructure.
Major telecom operators, including Jazz and Zong, have already launched most of these 5G sites. Meanwhile, Ufone is expected to join soon after receiving the required equipment.
In addition to 5G, users may also notice improvements in 4G services in the coming months. This is because network upgrades for 5G often help improve overall connectivity and speed.
However, full access to 5G services will depend on users’ devices. Smartphones must support 5G technology, and in some cases, software updates will be needed. Popular brands like Apple and Samsung are expected to roll out updates to enable compatibility.
