Pakistan Sets Record with 43,559 New Company Registrations in FY2025-26

Pakistan’s corporate sector showed strong growth in the fiscal year 2025-26. The Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP) registered a record 43,559 new companies. This marks a 24% increase from the previous year and brings the total number of registered companies in the country to over 301,615.

June 2026 alone saw 4,323 new registrations, the highest ever in a single month. Public sector company registrations also rose by 25%. Punjab led the way with 22,364 new companies, followed by Sindh with 6,691 and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa with 3,820. Gilgit-Baltistan recorded the highest growth rate at 65%, with 1,585 new companies, while Balochistan saw a 36% rise with 759 registrations.

The trading sector was the most popular, making up 41% of new registrations. Information technology and other services also attracted many new businesses.

Foreign investors registered 1,014 companies with a combined paid-up capital of Rs2.5 billion. Investors from China were the most active, followed by those from the United States, United Kingdom, Germany, Canada, and Spain. Foreign interest was highest in trading, mining, and information technology sectors.

Easier online registration through SECP’s eZfile system, economic reforms, and digitalization efforts likely helped this surge.
