Mega Motor Company (MMC), the official partner of BYD in Pakistan, has received the largest-ever shipment of more than 2,000 New Energy Vehicles (NEVs) at Karachi Port. The vehicles arrived via a Roll-on/Roll-off (RoRo) vessel on or around July 17, 2026. This big delivery will help meet growing customer demand for electric and hybrid cars in the country.
This shipment highlights the rising popularity of NEVs in Pakistan. Pakistani buyers are choosing electric vehicles for lower running costs, better fuel savings, and reduced pollution. High fuel prices and government support for green transport are driving this change. Many people now see NEVs as a smart, modern choice for daily driving.
Danish Khaliq, Vice President – Sales & Strategy at BYD Pakistan – MMC, said the arrival shows strong consumer confidence in sustainable mobility. He noted that the company worked hard to manage global supply challenges and improve logistics so customers can get their cars faster. BYD is also expanding its charging network and after-sales service across Pakistan to give buyers a smooth ownership experience.
Lei Jian, Country Head of BYD Pakistan, added that Pakistan is a key market for BYD’s global growth. As the world’s leading NEV brand, BYD focuses on innovation, quality, and cleaner transport. The company plans to start local assembly in Pakistan by mid-2026 through a plant near Karachi in partnership with Mega Motor Company. This will make vehicles more affordable and create jobs.
The use of efficient RoRo ships makes large deliveries easier and safer. This shipment strengthens supply chains and supports Pakistan’s shift to electric mobility. With more models coming and infrastructure improving, BYD aims to play a bigger role in the country’s green future.
