Gold prices in Pakistan jumped sharply on Saturday, 22 August 2026, as international rates also climbed. According to the All Pakistan Gems and Jewellers Sarafa Association, 24-karat gold rose by Rs 5,700 to reach Rs 482,936 per tola. Ten grams of the same pure gold increased by Rs 4,972 to Rs 414,039.
This rise follows a Rs 5,200 gain the day before, when the rate stood at Rs 477,136 per tola. In the global market, gold climbed $57 to $4,604 per ounce (including a $20 premium). A local trader told ProPakistani that if the upward trend continues, gold could cross the Rs 5 lakh (Rs 500,000) mark again in the coming days.
Silver prices stayed steady at Rs 7,379 per tola for the week. The recent surge is part of a strong rally through August, driven by higher international demand and local buying interest.
