Pakistan’s technology sector began the new fiscal year on a positive note. Information technology (IT) exports reached $417 million in July 2026, according to data from Topline Securities.
This amount is 18% higher than the $354 million recorded in July 2025. Compared with June 2026, when exports stood at $416 million, the figure remained almost the same. The steady monthly performance shows continued demand for Pakistani tech services abroad.
Net IT exports, which subtract related imports from total earnings, came to $344 million in July. This is a 9% increase from the same month last year. On a trailing twelve-month basis, net IT exports crossed the $4 billion mark and stood at $4.01 billion.
Total IT export proceeds over the past twelve months reached $4.66 billion. This represents a 20% rise from $3.87 billion in the corresponding period a year earlier. These numbers highlight the growing role of the IT industry as a key source of foreign exchange for Pakistan.
The government aims to push IT exports even higher under its “Uraan Pakistan” economic plan. The target is $10 billion in annual IT exports by the fiscal year 2029. To meet this goal, the sector will need to grow at a compound annual rate of nearly 30% over the next three years.
