Suzuki Motor has begun selling the Alto and Every in Brunei. Both cars are made by its Pakistani unit, Pak Suzuki Motor Company. The models match the compact size and 660cc engine size of Japan’s kei cars.
This is the first time Suzuki has shipped vehicles with these exact specifications from a factory outside Japan. The announcement came on 27 August 2026 during a ceremony marking 50 years of Boustead Sdn Bhd as Suzuki’s official distributor in Brunei. The event took place at Airport Mall Atrium in the capital, Bandar Seri Begawan.
About 120 people attended, including Japan’s Ambassador to Brunei Yutaka Kikuta, Boustead executive Lim Jin Lee, and Suzuki executives Masafumi Harano and Takashi Ise.
The Alto is a small hatchback suited for city driving. The Every is a practical compact van useful for families or light commercial work. Together, they expand Suzuki’s range in Brunei, which already includes models such as the Jimny, Ertiga and Fronx.
Brunei has high car ownership, and vehicles are used daily for commuting and school runs. Suzuki sees the country as a promising market for affordable, easy-to-drive small cars.
Boustead also said it will start selling Suzuki motorcycles around autumn 2026, focusing on larger models for touring and leisure.
Pak Suzuki has produced the Alto in Pakistan since 2019 and launched the Every more recently as a modern replacement for an older van model. Exporting these vehicles marks a new step for the company’s production base in Karachi.
The move shows growing confidence in Pakistan-made vehicles and helps Suzuki offer more choices tailored to local needs in Southeast Asia.
