The United States stayed Pakistan’s biggest buyer of goods in August 2026. Official figures from the State Bank of Pakistan show that shipments to America rose compared with the same month last year, even as total exports to many countries eased from July levels.
Pakistan’s overall goods exports in August reached about $2.5 billion according to Pakistan Bureau of Statistics data. This was higher than August 2025 but lower than the strong July figure. Textiles continued to make up the largest share of what the country sells abroad.
The United Kingdom and China followed the US as the next most important markets. Several European countries and the United Arab Emirates also remained significant destinations. One standout was a sharp rise in sales to the Philippines, while exports to a few traditional markets such as Germany and Saudi Arabia slipped year-on-year.
Trade with the United States stayed firmly in Pakistan’s favour during the first two months of the current fiscal year. Exports to America clearly outpaced imports from there, helping the country earn valuable foreign currency.
