Air Link Communication Limited, a well-known Pakistani company in electronics and smartphones, has announced plans to make electric bikes. The company will produce them under its new brand called AirV. This marks its entry into the fast-growing electric vehicle (EV) sector in Pakistan.
The board of directors approved the project on July 23, 2026. Air Link will set up a modern assembly plant at its existing facility in Lahore’s Sundar Green Special Economic Zone (SGSEZ). The company says management will handle all necessary approvals and operations to start production soon.
This move is part of Air Link’s strategy to grow beyond phones and other electronics. By entering the EV space, the company wants to support cleaner transportation and take advantage of rising demand for green mobility solutions.
Electric bikes are becoming popular in Pakistan because of high fuel prices, traffic problems, and environmental concerns. They are cheaper to run, need less maintenance, and produce zero emissions. Many people see them as a smart choice for daily commuting in cities. The government’s EV policies, including subsidies, are also helping to make these bikes more affordable.
Local manufacturing like AirV’s project can create jobs, reduce dependence on imports, and strengthen Pakistan’s EV ecosystem. It will make electric bikes more accessible and affordable for ordinary Pakistanis.
Air Link’s entry shows growing confidence in Pakistan’s technology and manufacturing sector. As more companies invest in electric mobility, the country can move toward cleaner air, lower fuel costs, and a stronger green economy. This development is good news for both the environment and local industry.
