China, Pakistan Ready to Jointly Build High-Quality CPEC 2.0

Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan Jiang Zaidong has said China and Pakistan are ready to jointly develop CPEC 2.0 with high-quality standards. He made the remarks in a statement issued on Saturday.

The ambassador stressed that both countries will use their close geographical location, mutual trust, and long friendship to expand cooperation in many areas. They plan to deepen exchanges and strengthen their overall partnership. This, he said, will help them handle external uncertainties and build a closer community with a shared future.

Jiang noted that China and Pakistan have stood together for more than 75 years of diplomatic relations. He called their all-weather strategic cooperative partnership a model of friendly ties between nations. Both sides respect each other’s history, culture, and national conditions. Pakistan’s support for the one-China principle and related issues was also appreciated.

CPEC 2.0 marks the next phase of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor. While the first phase focused mainly on energy and large infrastructure, the new phase aims at industrial growth, special economic zones, technology, green energy, agriculture, and private-sector partnerships. Recent meetings, including those led by Planning Minister Ahsan Iqbal, have focused on faster progress in these areas and stronger business-to-business cooperation.

Officials from both sides say the upgraded corridor will support Pakistan’s modernization goals and create new opportunities for trade and development. With continued high-level commitment, CPEC 2.0 is expected to bring fresh momentum to the long-standing partnership between the two countries.
