New Police Vehicles Handed Over to Islamabad Stations After 14 Years

Islamabad Police has received a long-awaited upgrade. After 14 years, the force has been given 30 new vehicles for its 27 police stations. Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi and Minister of State for Interior Talal Chaudhry handed over the keys during a ceremony.

The new vehicles will help police officers move faster across the capital. Officials say this will improve field operations and cut response times when people call for help in emergencies or file complaints. Many of the old vehicles were outdated and no longer reliable for daily policing work.

Mohsin Naqvi said modern policing is not possible without proper resources. He noted that old and broken vehicles cannot meet the needs of a busy capital city. The minister also mentioned plans to introduce electric vehicles. These will lower fuel costs and support cleaner, more environment-friendly policing.

Talal Chaudhry shared further steps being taken to strengthen the force. Around 9,000 new personnel are being recruited on merit to address the shortage of staff. In addition, work is underway to renovate and upgrade all 27 police stations, with the projects expected to finish this year.

These measures form part of a wider effort to modernise Islamabad Police. Better vehicles, more staff, and improved stations are meant to make the force more efficient and responsive to citizens’ needs.
