Nora is getting ready to introduce two new electric vehicles in Pakistan called the NEO and the METRO. Both models are expected to cost less than Rs 30 lakh, which places them among the more affordable electric options available in the country.
These vehicles belong to the L7 category of light electric cars, also known as quadricycles. They are bigger than Nora’s existing model and offer more space for everyday city use. The METRO is the larger of the two, while the NEO is slightly more compact. Both can seat four people and come with five doors.
According to details shared by the company, each vehicle is powered by a 4 kW electric motor and a 23.1 kWh lithium iron phosphate battery. The claimed driving range sits between 250 and 300 kilometres on a full charge. Top speed is limited to 70 km/h, which suits urban roads. Charging is expected to take six to eight hours. Features include touchscreen displays, power windows, keyless entry and disc brakes on all wheels.
Nora had hoped to show the cars at the Pakistan Auto Show in Lahore this week. Shipping delays have pushed the plans back, and a launch around 20 September or shortly afterwards is now expected. Final prices have not been confirmed, but the company has indicated both will stay under the Rs 30 lakh mark.
The new models aim to give Pakistani buyers practical electric cars for short trips, school runs and daily commuting without high fuel costs. Further details on bookings and exact pricing are likely to follow soon.
