Pakistan’s car market continued its recovery in July 2026. Sales of cars, light commercial vehicles, vans and jeeps reached 19,818 units. This was a strong 79% increase from 11,034 units sold in the same month last year. However, sales fell 13% compared with June’s 22,741 units.
The annual growth came from new brands entering the market, fresh model launches, and easier auto financing. Lower interest rates also helped more buyers take loans. The monthly drop was linked mainly to uncertainty about the new auto policy. Many customers delayed purchases while waiting for clearer rules on taxes and duties.
Suzuki remained the market leader with 10,120 units sold. Its popular Alto model alone accounted for 7,217 units. Toyota’s Indus Motor was the only major company to post a monthly rise. It sold 5,089 vehicles, up 45% from June and the best July performance in nearly four years. Honda sold 2,640 units, while Sazgar and Hyundai both recorded sharp declines.
Passenger cars led the recovery. Two- and three-wheeler sales also rose 38% year-on-year to 172,416 units. Tractor sales grew a modest 4% to 1,242 units.
The sector had a solid full year in FY26, with overall sales up about 39%.
