Sindh Opens Free High-Tech Crop Testing Lab in Tandojam for Farmers

The Sindh government has opened a modern Agriculture Research Laboratory in Tandojam. The lab offers free and fast testing for crop diseases to help local farmers.

Sindh Agriculture Minister Sardar Muhammad Bakhsh Mahar inaugurated the facility. He said it uses advanced molecular testing technology that can find diseases and viruses in just two hours. The lab can run up to 90 tests at the same time. This allows experts to identify problems much quicker than before.

Farmers often lose crops because diseases spread before they get results. With this new service, they can take action early and protect their harvests. The minister explained that the lab will modernize agricultural research in the province. It will also support the farming economy and help crops face climate challenges and falling productivity.

Tandojam is already an important centre for agriculture research in Sindh. The new lab adds modern tools to fight common plant diseases more effectively. Free testing means even small farmers can use the service without extra cost.

Crop diseases and climate stress continue to hurt yields across Sindh. Quick diagnosis can reduce losses and support better food production. Officials hope the laboratory will become a key resource for the farming community and strengthen research efforts in the region.
