The Suzuki Alto once again topped Pakistan’s passenger-car sales chart in August 2026. The popular small hatchback sold 5,339 units, keeping its place as the country’s best-selling model.
According to figures from the Pakistan Automotive Manufacturers Association (PAMA), the Alto’s sales rose about 27 percent compared with the same month last year. It alone made up roughly one-third of all locally assembled passenger cars sold during the month.
Even though overall car volumes dropped from July, the Alto held a clear lead. Buyers continue to favour the model because of its low running costs, compact size and affordable price in the entry-level segment.
Pak Suzuki Motor Company, the maker of the Alto, sold a total of 7,633 vehicles in August. Other strong performers included the Suzuki Swift (1,472 units) and the combined Honda City and Civic models (2,553 units). Toyota’s Corolla, Yaris and Corolla Cross together reached 3,079 units.
The ranking shows that smaller, fuel-efficient cars still dominate everyday demand in Pakistan.
