Pak Suzuki Motor Company has started exporting the Suzuki Alto, manufactured in Pakistan, to Brunei Darussalam. The move marks an important step for the country’s car industry and shows growing confidence in locally built vehicles.
The Alto, along with the Suzuki Every, is produced at Pak Suzuki’s plant and meets the compact size and 660cc engine standards similar to Japan’s mini-vehicles. This is the first time Suzuki has exported such models from any of its factories outside Japan. The cars are being sold in Brunei through the local distributor Boustead Sdn Bhd.
The launch was announced in late August 2026 during a ceremony in Bandar Seri Begawan that also celebrated 50 years of partnership between Suzuki and its Brunei distributor. Senior officials from both companies attended the event. More recently, the start of regular exports was highlighted at the Pakistan Auto Show in Lahore.
Industry observers note that a large share of parts used in the Alto are made in Pakistan. This demonstrates the improving quality and capability of the local supply chain. Pak Suzuki already exports some models to neighbouring countries, but Brunei is a new market for the company.
