Hyderabad Traffic Police have introduced mobile robo cameras to issue electronic challans for traffic violations. Officers can now digitally record offences and take action on the spot.
According to a police spokesperson, traffic staff will use these handheld mobile robo cameras to capture clear evidence of common violations. These include wrong parking, driving the wrong way on one-way roads, using fancy or illegal number plates, and other traffic offences. The recorded proof is then processed through the e-challan system. This ends the need for traditional paper-based manual challans.
The new step aims to improve traffic discipline and make road safety rules stronger through digital monitoring. Mobile robo cameras help officers document violations more quickly and accurately. They also bring greater transparency to the challan process by providing visual evidence.
This move expands Hyderabad’s existing e-challan system. Traffic police can now issue electronic challans directly from the field using the portable cameras. Authorities expect the system to speed up enforcement against rule-breakers and reduce delays in taking action.
Police officials believe the technology will encourage better compliance with traffic laws. Drivers are advised to follow road rules carefully, as violations can now be recorded and processed more efficiently than before. The initiative marks another step toward modern, technology-based traffic management in the city.
