The Balochistan government has decided to install artificial intelligence (AI)-powered traffic signals in Quetta. The move aims to provide a lasting solution to the city’s rising traffic problems.
The decision was made during a high-level meeting chaired by Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti. Officials reviewed plans for a modern traffic management system in the provincial capital. They explained that AI-based signals will help manage growing vehicle pressure and control traffic flow more effectively.
Chief Minister Bugti directed the concerned departments to work together and set up an effective, long-term, and modern traffic system. He said modern technology would improve traffic movement and give citizens safer, more organized, and convenient travel options.
Public convenience and road safety remain top priorities for the provincial government. Using technology to solve traffic issues is an important part of its reform agenda. The AI-powered system is expected to cut travel time, improve road discipline, increase transparency, and strengthen traffic monitoring.
CM Bugti also repeated the government’s promise to upgrade Quetta’s urban infrastructure. The goal is to create a safer and more efficient transport environment for residents. Officials believe the new signals will bring better order to the city’s roads and reduce daily congestion for thousands of commuters.
